1. The Undifferentiated Medical Student by Ian Drummond
My Favorite Take-Away: Look into yourself (your strengths, your weaknesses) and pursue what peaks your interest.
Host, Ian Drummond, describes many specialties as either a "mile wide, inch deep or inch wide, mile deep" in referring the knowledge required for each specialty.
Woah woah woah... Why include a podcast about medical specialties for PRE-MED podcast recommendations??? In all honesty, I stumbled across this podcast while at work and decided to test it out, and found myself listening for hours. Drummond interviews established doctors in a plethora of medical specialties which provides listeners with a preview into different categories of medicine. Use this interesting podcast as a pre-med for not only inspiration but also to learn more about yourself.
2. Dear PreMed by Dear PreMed (Mary Tate)
My Favorite Take-Away: Spoken beautifully by Mary Tate, "you are good enough" and "newsflash, there isn't a cookie cutter premed" (Mary Tate).
Conducted by a fourth year Harvard medical student, Mary Tate's podcast includes a unique feature where she asks her guests to read a letter to their pre-med self.
3. How I Built This With Guy Raz by NPR
My Favorite Take-Away: Each episode, Guy Raz interviews well established entrepreneurs and asks his guests the question, "how much do you attribute your success to luck or hard work?"
Although this podcast lacks any literal medical relevance, I included it because of its importance to self-motivation, drive, hard work, intelligence, and ingenuity.

Have fun listening!
